Giving MoosDay for The River Food Pantry’s Giving Tuesday | The River Food Pantry

Support Neighbors in Need by Supporting Local Dairy Farmers

Whole milk is a highly requested – but rarely donated – item at The River Food Pantry. This Giving Tuesday is your chance to change that!

For every $10 you donate during The River’s “Giving MoosDay” campaign, you will provide a pint of whole milk for 12 local children and adults facing food insecurity. For $100, you will provide a half-gallon of whole milk for 150 food-insecure families.

Last year, you helped us crush our $10,000 goal by raising nearly triple that amount. We hope to repeat that success this year on November 30.

By supporting our Giving MoosDay campaign, we will be able to purchase a consistent supply of fresh, healthy whole milk directly from local dairy farmers to provide for thousands of food-insecure children, seniors, veterans and low-income families across Dane County.

Why Whole Milk?

The River currently offers low-fat milk weekly to over 1,000 Dane County households. Whole milk is a popular request that we would love to provide as another option.

Whole milk is rich with essential nutrients, including high quality protein, calcium, and vitamins A, B12 and D. Whole milk can provide the fat content young children need for healthy growth and development. Some studies have even shown whole milk can also lower rates of obesity, heart disease and diabetes.

Together, we can expand access to free, healthy whole milk throughout Dane County AND support local dairy farmers. Give to The River’s Giving MoosDay campaign today!
