As Wisconsin’s notoriously cold weather sets in, our minds and stomachs look forward to the holidays. From Thanksgiving turkey, Christmas hams, and everything in-between, a home-cooked meal with friends and family is always at the center of this season. But for some families in Dane County, a holiday meal is a luxury they just can’t afford.
The River Food Pantry gave my grandson a Christmas I could never give him on my income, and words can’t express how thankful I am for their giving hearts.

The River is proud to introduce our H.O.P.E. (Help Other People Eat) Holiday Food Drive. H.O.P.E. is a campaign to make sure that every family coming through our doors has the ability to shop for extra holiday meals and nutrition, so that they can have a well-deserved home-cooked meal. To make this a reality, we need your help.
Your generous gift of $30 goes a long way to provide a complete holiday meal for a family of up to 8 people. Your gift provides local families with the option of a turkey, ham or chicken, alongside all the fixings they choose.
Help us reach our goal of giving out 2,000 holiday meals.
Donations can also be made by mailing a check with the word “H.O.P.E.” in the memo to:
