MADISON, Wis. — January 25, 2022 — The Madison Community Foundation’s Ecumenical Fund for Nutrition has awarded The River Food Pantry a $25,000 grant to support their new online grocery ordering system, called ePantry.
“We are so thankful to the Ecumenical Fund for Nutrition for their continued generosity,” said Rhonda Adams, Executive Director of The River. “This grant in support of ePantry will help us continue to improve access to free healthy food for low-income households throughout Dane County.”
The River will use grant funding to purchase culturally inclusive and special dietary food offerings, such as vegetarian and gluten-free items, for ePantry. Currently, the online ordering system is stocked with a variety of 140 food and personal care items each week for the community to choose from. Items include fresh produce, meat, dairy, bread, cleaning products, paper products, and more.
“The River Food Pantry is always exploring ways to innovate, building client resources and agency efficiency,” said Tom Linfield, Vice President Community Impact of Madison Community Foundation. “Madison Community Foundation is proud to support these efforts.”
