Madison Fire Department Helps Deliver Lunches with MUNCH | The River Food Pantry

The Madison Fire Department and the River Food Pantry shares the same vision

for the community so it is only logical that we help each other.        – Fire Chief Steven Davis

This week we were lucky to have Fire Chief Steven Davis, Lieutenant Lisa Becher and Lorenzo of the City of Madison Fire Department join our MUNCH staff and volunteers to nourish children in local neighborhoods.

The group got to visit multiple stops and see how MUNCH positively impacts local children. The group was attentive and always willing to serve. They asked questions about how often we serve these neighborhoods and the response from the community. Chief Davis even helped hold one of the children coming through the line. During the outing, they were laughing and chatting with the clients in their own neighborhoods while also standing at the ready to help.

Cheif Davis let us know that “The Madison Fire Department is always there for the community when anyone needs us with no questions asked. The Madison Fire Department and the River Food Pantry shares the same vision for the community so it is only logical that we help each other. The MFD is honored to forge a continued partnership in helping people in our community.”

The Madison Fire Department’s motto is to “Invest In People Today”. This message is clearly seen through this group. They are committed to seeing their community thrive and grow. Their department is more than just fire suppression, They are focused on engaging with their community through education and volunteering with programs like MUNCH. We thank them for their service and their time spent with us!

We have multiple ways to help the continued growth of this program including giving a gift, volunteering time, and sponsoring MUNCH.
