Meet A Volunteer | The River Food Pantry

Almost every Thursday you’ll find Dan sitting behind a table at The River with a stethoscope hanging on his neck, a blood pressure meter and notebook placed next to him and a smile on his face. He greets many shoppers by their first name and offer them a seat next to him. Dan has been checking blood pressures of shoppers at The River Food Pantry since 2014.

For the past four years, Dan has been coming in with the same notebook documenting every blood pressure he has taken. He said some shoppers come specifically on Thursdays to see him. Dan is just one of many that makes The River for what it is, a community with compassion.
