The River Food Pantry is excited to accept a grant awarded by The Alliant Energy Foundation. The Alliant Energy Foundation awards grants to areas that focus on Education, Environment, and Helping Families.
“Programs like MUNCH serve a vital need within our communities.”
– Julie Bauer, Executive Director of Alliant Energy Foundation
As The River Food Pantry helps 1,000 Dane County households in need each week, we are happy to accept this funding. The award of $2,500 will be used towards our MUNCH program. This summer we are projected to be handing out 419 lunches each day in the eight neighborhoods we serve. This funding will allow us to continue the production and distribution of our lunches, as well as helping fund our new MUNCH Intern position.
Alliant Energy provides funding for projects and organizations that help improve the quality of life in the communities that they serve. As The River Food Pantry is Dane County’s busiest food pantries, this funding will allow both of our organization to continue to support and nourish the communities we live in. “Programs like MUNCH serve a vital need within our communities. We can’t expect children to thrive in summer education and enrichment programs if their stomachs are empty.” Said from Julie Bauer, Executive Director of Alliant Energy Foundation. “We’re thankful for The River Food Pantry for stepping up to address child hunger, especially when school isn’t in session.”
We’re excited to continue our partnership with The Alliant Energy Foundation and thank staff and volunteers that continue that continue to make this connection possible.
