How Will Sips & Slices Work?

Held on the first day of National Pizza Month, this competition will feature teams of local chefs and celebrities who will work together to design their own unique pizzas. Teams will choose their toppings from a list of ingredients provided by our top event sponsor, Ian’s Pizza at Garver Feed Mill, who has generously offered to cover the cost of crusts and toppings. Ian’s Pizza will construct and bake all the pizzas in their kitchen on the day of the event.

Attendees will sample slices and vote for their favorites. Everyone will receive 3 voting tickets when they arrive with the option to purchase more. Their name will be entered into a drawing for prizes for each additional ticket purchased.

The winning pizza will be added to Ian’s Pizza’s menu for 2 weeks in November for our whole community to try.

In addition to pizza, participating chefs are invited to bring a side dish for attendees to enjoy. Vintage Brewing Co. will also provide samples of a limited-edition River Red Lager that they brewed to support the pantry and this event.

All the proceeds from this inaugural fundraising event will go toward providing healthy food for the growing number of food-insecure families who utilize The River Food Pantry’s services.
