Legacy Giving
A legacy gift can be especially meaningful because it provides long term support that strengthens our ability to meet future challenges in the fight against hunger. You can make a lasting gift that will meet a basic need by providing nutritious food to families who would otherwise struggle to put meals on the table.
We welcome the opportunity to discuss with you and your attorney or financial advisor the many options available to meet your charitable objectives and provide for your loved ones. For example, you can leave a bequest in your will, add The River Food Pantry as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy, give a gift of retirement assets or set up a charitable gift annuity.
For more information on planned giving, contact development@riverfoodpantry.org.
Resource Council
The River is fortunate to have a new Resource Council to assist our supporters in making decisions that benefit both you and the legacy you would like to leave with The River to ensure our mission well into the future!
The River’s Resource Council is comprised of local professionals with backgrounds in estate planning, trust and estate administration, planned giving, and retirement planning. If you have any questions, don’t know where to start or even what the right questions are, feel free to contact one of these experts. They will be happy to assist at no charge for basic responses. These will not be sales calls, however. If you wish to engage with them further, they will inform you of their rates.
Throughout the year, you’ll hear from our Resource Council members as they share advice in our monthly e-newsletter and offer a panel presentation to help demystify charitable giving.
